WAEC withholds results of candidates in 13 states over N4b debt!

FEW weeks ago, the West African Examination Council (WAEC) threaten to withhold results of candidates whose state government has not paid their debt, and they finally did it.

According to the report, WAEC withheld the 2015 WAEC Senior School Certificate Examination results of students of public schools in 13 states following their state government’s failure to pay the fees meant for their registration.

If you recalled, WAEC on July 27 2015 threatened to withhold the results of public students from 19 states following the failure of their state governments to pay their WAEC registration fee.

While announcing the release of the results in Lagos on 8th August 2015, WAECs head of National Office, Mr. Charles Eguridu, said the number of the states owing WAEC had reduced to 13 as 6 states out of the 19 earlier announced have addressed their debt.

Mr. Charles added that that a total of 1,605,248 registered for the May/June 2015 WAEC, while 1,593,442 sat for the examination. 864,096 candidates were males while 729,346 candidates were females.
