According to the report reaching us, a student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, walked from Nsukka town to Enugu in order to meet the new governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. And guess what? He was turned back after completing the 50 kilometre marathon!!!
The name of the trekking student is: Mr. Asogwa Stanley, and he is a final year student of the UNN. He completed his 50 kilometre marathon on Monday evening, after taking off around 7:00 AM the same day.
According to the report, Mr. Asogwa jogged to some prominent places in the coal city before he proceeded to the government house where some friends and well-wishers were there to welcome him.
Unfortunately, on getting there, the security men at the gate told him that the governor, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and his Deputy were not around.
Mr. Asogwa while speaking with newsmen said that he is happy for the governor’s election victory and the trek was his own way of showing his joy.

“I want to use the race to express my happiness on the development”.
“As a student, I don’t have money to organize events for him like others might have done, but I know I can embark on this distant race and I have succeeded in doing so.
“I really thank God for giving me the strength”. Stanley said.
He assured the new governor that the youth are behind him as he takes charge in the state.
