What is your Jamb Score in the just concluded 2014/2015 UTME examination? If your score is up to 200 and above, then take our a big handshake from Nigeria School and once again congratulations because you are very eligible to write the Unilag 2014/2015 Post UME screening exercise that is expected to hold before August, 2014.

If your score is not up to 200, you need to pray harder that Unilag should consider the mass failure this year and bring down itโ€™s cut off to at least 180. This I doubt though cos Unilag hardly go below 200 as UTME cut off.

Note: Please take note that The University of Lagos has not officially released the Jamb cut-off mark for 2014. But from past cut-off’s, Unilag cut-off point is 200 and above. So if you scored below 200, your chance of competing for Admission is THIN.

UNILAG 2014-2015 POST-UTME: Formula for Calculating Aggregate Score

For jamb 2014 candidates who applied for admission at the University of Lagos, Unilag, for the 2014/2015 Academic Session. I believed you will like to know how your final score which will ultimately determines whether you will be admitted or not is arrived at.

The formula is the sum of your UTME SCORE divided by 8 and your POST UTME divided by 2. (Mathematicians will solve this within minutes or even seconds, but for those who are not that erm ehm okay with Calculations, please see the break down below)

Lets say you score 270 in the UTME and went on to score 65 in POST UTME, your aggregate score will be calculated thus:
UTME Score: 270/8 = 33.75
Post UTME Score: 65/2 = 32.5
Aggregate Score: 33.75+32.5 = 62.25%

I hope this is clear enough? If not, see more details below;
Here is what I mean;

JAMB Total Mark is = 400 marks

University of Lagos will breakdown the whole of the 400 marks into 50 marks which means (400/8 = 50)

Whatever you score in Jamb will be divided by 8 too. lets use 290 as an example (290/8 = 36.25)

That is 36.25 out of 50 in Jamb UTME Examination. (This means that you already got 36.25 that will make up your final aggregate score. The remaining marks will come from post utme exam)

You can see from the above calculation that the higher your Jamb score, the better your chance of gaining admission into University of your choice.
If you got a low score in jamb your chances are already reduced because by the time UNILAG slash it over 8, you will have nothing remaining.

When you know how to calculate Unilag Aggregate Score, you can tell if you are admitted or not before Unilag will released he 2014/2015 Admission List.
How? What you need to do is to calculate your Jamb score and also calculate you Unilag Post UME score, plus them together and find out what Unilag cut-off mark for admission in the previous years.
