Breaking: UNIBEN Suspends 2nd Semester Exams Following Cult Activities

LATEST report reaching us here on nigeriaschool.com.ng has it that the school management of the University of Benin, (Uniben) has suspended the second semester examination following the clashes between cult groups in the Institution, and Ekosodin community (a community around the school harboring majority of UNIBEN students) (copied from nigeriaschool.com.ng) the institution has suspended all academic activities temporarily.

According to our source, the unfortunate crisis started on Thursday evening, (20th November, 2014) when some suspected cult members stormed one of the hostels in Ekosodin community armed with different types of weapons including guns, cutlass, axe, etc and were harassing the students residing in the hostel.

On the same day, Thursday, several students returning from night studying in the school were beaten and and their valuables taken by the same cult members. (nigeriaschool.com.ng)

According to our source, some of the students sustained varying degrees of injuries while few others were reported to have died in the process. (although this has not been officially confirmed).

The next day, Friday morning, ambulances were spotted around the community to convey corpses and injured victims to hospital for treatment and to the mogue those who have gave up the ghost.

The school senate of University of Benin has issued a notice to all students concerning the suspension of the second semester examination earlier scheduled to begin yesterday, Friday, 21st of November till Monday, 24th of November.

We will inform you when the school released new dates for the examination.
