For a several months now, the Engineering students of the University of Abuja (Uniabuja) have been protesting over the non-accreditation of their programme. The latest information is that the Uniabuja Engineering Students will be MOVE to other universities to complete their studies within the next few months.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) had meetings with prospective universities that could re-absorb these Engineering students who have refused to let other students of the university write their examinations, insisting their faculty must first be accreditated.
The Federal Government met with the parents of the affected students to make the approval.
The Minister of education Professor Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa’i while meeting with a delegation of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) led by the President Yinka Gbadebo said the university could secure accreditation for the programme in the “next few months” (how few are the months, don’t know) and the minister said, “the problem is the students who are in the university now.”
“We are looking at the possibility if we cannot absorb them in the system because they have reached certain level of their academic career, we are looking at the possibility of taking them to our various universities so they can graduate safely and we can put a stop to this problem,”
