Two Students Killed in Kwara state Polytechnic Cult Clash

Information reaching us is that Two suspected students of Kwara State Polytechnic, were found dead Thursday 14th June 2012, after a violent clash by rival cult groups in Ilorin, the state capital.

One out of the two dead students was beheaded and over thrown to bare ground.
Their corpses were discovered at the Sango area of Ilorin.
Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Fabode Olufemi, confirmed the incident, saying the two cult groups were from Kwara State Polytechnic.

Mr Fabode said the cult groups had engaged each other in a clashfight Wednesday night, a development that resulted in
the death of the two suspected students.
He said that the police on getting information about the clash, immediately swung into action and brought the situation under control, even as he expressed surprise that the deceased students were discovered in a nearby bush yesterday afternoon, saying
investigations into the matter had commenced.

The school authorities of the kwara state polytechnic said that students of the institution were involved in killing of the two men, they however said the corpses were not discovered near the institution as claimed.
