There are stories we hear and sometimes we assume them to be fables, fairies, but this one actually happened in Plateau State during the weekend two students were struck by lightening or “thunder” as it is popularly called by locals.
According to the report, 2 students of a secondary school in Shendam, Plateau State were at the weekend struck dead by lightening while one of them was seriously injured.
The principal of the school, Mr. Raymond Gofut, while speaking with journalist said the incident occurred when the students were returning to their hostel in the evening shortly after a heavy rain pour/fall.
The other student who was seriously injured by the Lightening was rushed to an undisclosed hospital and he is currently receiving treatment, while the bodies of the deceased students were later deposited at a local mortuary.
When Leadership contacted the state Commissioner for Education, Mr. Nanle Dashe, he confirmed the incident, saying it was not a government-owned secondary school though he was yet to receive full details about the incident.
May their soul RIP. Amen.
