Plateau State University renamed after Solomon Lar University?

Breaking News: Plateau State University renamed after Solomon Lar University?
The latest report reaching us today reveals that the governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, yesterday announced the renaming of the State University after elder statesman, Chief Solomon Lar, who died on the 9th of October, 2013 after a long illness at the age of 80. The governor made this known while receiving the body of the late politician at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on the 7th of December, 2013.

For those who don’t know, Chief Solomon Lar was a member of the first national parliament when Nigeria gained independence in 1960 and was the first Executive Governor of Plateau state. He will be buried on Friday, 13th of December, 2013.
The governor has also declared 13 Dec. 2013 a work free day in Plateau state.
May his soul rest in Peace.
All students of the Plateau State University should note that the school has been renamed to Solomon Lar University
