LATEST information reaching us has it that the National Universities Commission, NUC has closed down an illegal university named Borough College, London situated in Igboho, Oke Ogun area of Oyo state, Nigeria.
According to the committee chairman on closure of illegal universities in Nigeria, a sub group of NUC, Prof. Adebisi Balogun, the Borough College, London has six(6) faculties and student strength of 200 before the visit of the committee to the institution.
The chairman committee learnt that Borough College, London was established by one Prof. Ogunleye in October, 2014.
According to news, prof. Ogunleye, actually wrote to the National Universities Commission, NUC and asked for a form to establish an institution but he never followed up with the remaining process before operating the College.
Prof. Adebisi Balogun advised parents to always verify the authenticity of an institution before enrolling their wards stressing the proliferation of illegal universities in the country.
