Advice and Message to New Zikites, By Oguguo Obinna Henry

Dear New Zikites,

I congratulate you on your admission into Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka. Many have been struggling to be called a Zikite but couldn’t make. Your admission is a great privilege that everyone should be proud of. It does not take much strength to decide on what to do.

You have decided to uphold education which is the ultimate and sure way to success in life. May excellence always recognise you even in the dark and may failure never know you even in the brightest of the day.

Moreover, as you prepare for your formal inauguration and admission in the upcoming matriculation and as you prepare your self to face the major tasks ahead, kindly note the following:

1. Your academics is the major aim of your presence in this environment. Other activities should NEVER supersede your studies.

2. Do not be in a hurry to make friends. In fact let your first and second year be your moments of personal survey and observations. If you must make friends let it be from your three hundred level. This is because the type of friend(s) you make will influence your general performance after your days as a Zikite.

3. Let your least degree target be second class upper division. If you end up with second class lower division you will be a long lasting customer of the job market and if after your years in school you end up with third class then you must be a ‘sorry’ to your parents, guardians and community, and if you graduate with anything less than third class then you must be a comedian and object of ridicule in the society.

4. Always remain faithful to God as he is the author and finisher of your academic pursuit.

Finally, always feel free to call 08108396813 (OGUGUO OBINNA HENRY) for any assistance. We are always in school to help out.

Thank you and remain blessed.
