From the report reaching us, The National Examination Council (NECO) yesterday, 7th March, 2013, released the Nov/Dec 2012 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Results. And according to the report, Kano State and Lagos states top the list of examination malpractice.

The Neco Exam body recorded 21,274 cases of examination malpractice across the country with Kano state having the highest incidences of malpractice with 649 candidates, representing 13.96 percent out of 4,646 while Lagos state came second with 238 cases out of 6, 508 candidates.
The registrar of the council, Prof. Promise Okpala told newsmen in Minna that the FCT had the lowest incidence with only five cases out 1,322 candidates that sat for the exams.

Professor Promise said the body has recorded an improvement over the last year’s result with 25,630 out of 75,623 candidates that sat for the examination passing at credit level in English Language, representing 33.89 percent compared to 10.0 percent in 2011.

He added that 41,228 candidates also passed at credit level out of 75,245 candidates that sat for Mathematics, representing 54.79 percent which indicated an improvement over 2011 result that recorded 44.7 percent.

Prof. Okpala said 83,755 candidates registered for the examination and that out of which only 75,623 candidates sat for the examination.
