WE have just been reliably informed that The National Board for Technical Education, (NBTE) has accredited 12 new programmes for the Federal Polytechnic Mubi, (Mubipoly) Adamawa State and this is good news for all the students of Mubi Poly!.
The Rector of the poly, Sadiq Yahya, said four Higher National Diploma (HND) and eight National Diploma (ND) courses in the school received the board’s approval.
While speaking in Kaduna on Monday 6th January, 2014 on receiving the institution’s Governing Council members.
Sadiq Yahya stated that the school submitted 13 of its programmes to NBTE for accreditation but 12 sailed through the board’s quality assurance mechanism.
The rector, Sadiq who applauded the move, said steps were on to remedy the deficiency in the outstanding programme.
He also noted that the board had already given the polytechnic the approval to admit students to the programmes in the 2013/2014 academic session.
Expressing concern over the lingering industrial action by two of the three unions in the polytechnic sector, the rector appealed to the unions to consider the plight of students and return to classes.
Sadiq Yahya, who noted that the Federal Government had taken steps to address the demands of the unions, urged them to ensure the amicable resolution of all the issues.
Congratulations to the rector of The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi for taking the steps to ensure the courses offered by the Institution are accredited.
Interested candidates who are disturbed by this before now can now apply for admission with full confidence.
