Maritime Academy Oron Post UTME Form

WE are using this platform to inform the public that the management of Maritime Academy Oron is inviting all the candidates who selected Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, Akwa Ibom State as their institution of First Choice in the 2020 UTME and scored the minimum of 160 – 180 marks to attend the Post UTME Aptitude Test for National Diploma (ND).

Eligibility & Maritime Academic Oron Cut Off Mark

Candidates seeking admission into the Academy must have a functional and accessible electronic mail address (E-mail) and a mobile phone number.

Applicants are required to possess the following:

  1. A minimum of 175 points in the 2020/2021 UTME for:
    • Nautical Science
    • Marine Engineering and
    • Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  2. A minimum of 160 marks in the 2020/2021 UTME for:
    • Maritime Transport and Business Studies.
  3. A minimum of five (5) credit passes in Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent obtained in not more than two sittings within the LAST FIVE YEARS in relevant subjects.
  4. Applicant MUST have the correct JAMB subject combinations for each course of Interest.

MAN Oron Post-UTME Requirements

Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent and JAMB Subject Combination.

  1. Nautical Science
    Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Geography
    • Physics and any other relevant Science subjects obtained at NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.
      UTME Subject Combination:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Geography
    • Physics
  2. Marine Engineering
    Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Chemistry any other relevant Science subjects
      UTME Subject Combination:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Chemistry
    • Physics
  3. Electrical/Electronic Engineering
    Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Chemistry any other relevant Science subjects
      UTME Subject Combination:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Chemistry
    • Physics
  4. Maritime Transport and Business Studies
    Five (5) credit passes at Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects:

    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Economics/Commerce and any two relevant subjects from Government, Principles of Account.
      UTME Subject Combination:
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Economics
    • Commerce/Government/ Principles of Account

Physical and Medical Fitness:

  • Due to the peculiar requirements of the Institution and the maritime industry as well as an international convention (STCW) 95 as amended in 2010 which mandates all seamen to be physically and mentally fit to work in the maritime industry, all applicants are expected to be physically and mentally fit to be able to withstand the rigors/challenges of the cadetship training.
  • Candidate must undergo some medical tests at any Government Hospital and upload their medical status on the application portal. The list of medical tests can be found on the application portal dashboard.

     

  • Candidate should print-out Application Medical Examination Form (Form M) from the application portal. This form should be duly completed and signed before uploading it on the portal.

Marital Status:

  • Applicants must be single and shall remain single throughout the duration of the programme.

Age Limit for Each Programme

  • Candidates applying for Nautical Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, and Marine Engineering must be between the ages of 16 and 21 as at the time of commencement of the programme. (i.e. 20th November 2020)
  • Candidates applying for Maritime Transport and Business Studies must be between the ages of 16 and 25 as of 20th November 2020.

How to Apply for Maritime Academic Post-UTME

National Diploma online Portal Opens on Monday, 12th October 2020.

MAN Post UTME Application Form Fee: Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00) only.

Eligible candidate should log on to the Academy Portal at www.maritimeacademy.gov.ng and do the following;

  • Click on Admission – HND/ND Registration Portal
  • Login with UTME number as Username and Jamb Score as Password
  • Generate and Print the Payment Slip
  • Proceed to any of the banks listed on the application portal dashboard to make payment using eTranzact Payment Platform or pay online
  • Return to the Academy Portal to Complete the registration form.

MAN Post UTME Screening Date

MAN Post UTME Date has not been announced yet. The method adopted for screening may change from time to time as decided by the Management/Regulatory Authority. We will update this as at when necessary.

Maritime Academic Admission Form Closing Date

The sale and submission of the Maritime Academic Oron Post-UTME Screening Form will end on Friday, 20th November 2020.

  • Candidate with incomplete registration will be automatically disqualified
  • The Academy has zero-tolerance for drug abuse, bullying, or any social violence. Applicants found wanting shall lose his/her cadetship.

    1. Although the form is not out yet, but you must choose them as your first choice in 2018 UTME (That was one of the requirement in 2017 admission).

  1. Please I want to find out about Post Graduate Diploma in Maritime Business & Transport: when the next admission form come out and how much will it cost for the entire programme, both duration and money costs.

    1. They accept FIRST CHOICE candidates last year. If it is the same this year, you will not be eligible to purchase the form.

    1. Unless you are going for Maritime Transport and Business Studies, which is 160 and above.
      However, the school management might conduct another screening for applicants who scored 160 to 179 in the 2018 UTME.
