The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) warns against two candidates sharing phone number during the 2019 JAMB Registration.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Friday 11th January, 2019 advised all the prospective candidates to adhere strictly to the JAMB 2019 Registration procedure to avoid creating issues that will require money to correct your data.
JAMB Board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Friday, 11th Jan.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that registration of candidates for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination started nationwide on Thursday, 10th January in more than 700 accredited Computer Based Test centres.
According to Dr Fabian, all prospective candidates intending to register for the examination must ensure that he or she starts off by sending his/her full name, (surname first) to the code provided by the board. (Please See how to register for JAMB 2019)
Before sending your details to the code, you must ensure that no other person had used the telephone number for the same purpose.
Can Two Candidates Use the Same Phone Number During Jamb Registration?
“No two persons must use the same phone number in commencing the registration process as it will not be acceptable.
“The way it is configured is one individual to one telephone number that will remain exclusive to that single individual for the purpose of the entire examination process.
“Not even siblings are allowed to share a particular telephone number for this purpose.
“No two persons cannot share a telephone number for the purpose of confidentiality.
Can I use My Phone number used during Jamb 2018 Registration for JAMB 2019?
“For instance, if Jane had used a telephone number to send her name to the code in the past, James, who is a sibling to Jane cannot use that number for that purpose again.
“But Jane, who probably might not have been able to pass the examination in the past, can still use that particular GSM number again to send her name to that code whenever the need arises,’’ Fabian explained.
What Happened if you Lost your Phone Number?
In the case where you lost your phone number, Dr. Benjamin suggested that the best option is to get a fresh telephone number for the purpose to send to the code for the candidate’s profile number.
“As a rule, it has always been one person to a telephone number to get a JAMB profile number that will enable candidates do the proper registration and capturing,’’ he said.
