Yes, according to the agency, the National Identification Number (NIN) is mandatory for candidates who want to register for the examination.

The NIN, which is a unique number that identifies individuals, is issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) upon enrolment.

From the official statement; “For any person to be registered for UTME/DE, he/she must supply his/her National Identity Number (NIN). It is therefore mandatory for participation in the 2021 Registration Exercise,”

The Board had in the past made the NIN mandatory for the candidates willing to register for its examinations but later announced the cancellation of the policy following the harrowing experiences of the candidates at the various registration centres.

How to Register for JAMB 2021 in 6 Simple Steps

The JAMB 2020 Form as we all know is now out, please see the attached .pdf document for the step-by-step guide. But before that, take note of the following;

Step 1. No candidate should proceed to any CBT centre without first creating a profile. (please see how to create a profile in step 2 below).

Step 2. Candidates are advised to create a profile by sending their name in this format; (Surname, First-name, and Middle-name) via SMS to 55019.

Step 3. After which a 10 digit profile code would be sent to their telephone number.

Step 4. This code will then be used to purchase the application document at the point of purchase (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, USSD Partners etc).

Step 5. A form e-pin would then be sent to the candidate via SMS.

Step 6. The candidate is to present the e-pin at any JAMB accredited CBT centre for registration.
