Breaking News: JAMB Begins Inspection And Accreditation Of Centres For 2016/2017 Jamb-UTME
Dr Fabian Benjamin, who is the Public Relations Officer of The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), disclosed to newsmen that the board has begun the inspection of facilities for the 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
According to Dr Fabian, about 600 facilities nationwide have been so far inspected for accreditation as centres for the conduct of the JAMB 2016 Computer Based Test (CBT).
According to the report, JAMB board intends to inspect over 1,000 facilities for accreditation and that only centers that met the requirements would be accredited as centres for the 2016-2017 JAMB-UTME Exercise.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin emphasized that the board is very much interested in the technical aspect of each of the facilities and called for more public and private partnership in establishing well equipped centres.
“Some of the things we are looking out for have a lot to do with the technical aspect.
“For these centres to meet our requirements, they must have not less than 250 computers with reliable power source.
“The computer centres must be integrated with the local area network and there must equally be a high and accessible security in and around such centres.” He said.
In our next post, we will share with you on how to become an accredited JAMB CBT Centre. This is for business minded people.
Jamb 2016 Form will be on sale officially anytime from now, all those who want to partake in the examination should prepare adequately for it.
