Jamb 2015: Lit. in English Books for UTME 2015 Candidates

THIS is to inform all the 2015/2016 JAMB Candidates, who have registered to take Literature-in-English in the coming UTME 2015 Examination to read and familiarize themselves on the books from which questions will be taken from.

Before we commence, please be inform that Jamb 2015 UTME registration will officially end on the 30th January, 2015. Candidates who are yet to register for the examination can do so now before it is too late – Jamb 2015 Registration Guideline.

According to the official JAMB 2015 Syllabus for Literature in English, the books to read are;

DRAMA:
African:

i. JC De Craft: Sons and Daughters, UPL Non-African:
ii. William Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet, Newswan

POETRY:

African:

i. Buchi Emecheta: The Joys of Motherhood, Heinemann.
ii.Ferdinand Oyono: The Old Man and the Medal, Heinenmann.

Non-African:

George Orwell: Nineteen Eighty Four, Newswan.

POETRY:

African:

i. Adeoti Gbemisola: ‘Naked Soles’.
ii. D.Rubadiri: ‘An African Thunderstorm’.
iii. Kobcna Eyi Acquah: ‘In the novel of the Soul’.
iv. Mazisi Kunene: ‘Heritage of Liberation’.
v. Okinba Launko: ‘End of the War’.
vi. Traditional: ‘Give me the Minstrel’s Seat’.

Non-African:

i. Andrew Mabel: ‘To His Coy Mistress’ .
ii. D.H.Lawrence: ‘Bat’ .
iii. T. S. Elliot: ‘The Journey of the Magi’ .
iv. Wendy Cope: ‘Sonnet’.
