The report reaching us reveals that the youth and elders of the host community (Ugbomoro, Uvwie) of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) has disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the Institution as they stormed and locked down the campus depriving both staff and students from gaining access to the school facility.

They told newsmen that their motive for shutting down the University steamed from the fact that graduates of the host community were not considered for employment during the recent employment process.

Eyewitnesses said they host community are doing more harm as they day goes by. As at the time of this report, a casket has been placed at the front of the school main-gate with both the youths and elder still preventing anybody from gaining access to the school premises.

This has further delayed students examination that only started on Monday this week.
We hope this issue is resolved very soon as most students are getting worried and confused.
Meanwhile, students are advice to stay away from harm’s way.
