When Nigerian author, Chinua Achebe wrote Things Fall Apart in the year 1958, we taught he was high, but from what is happening right now in our beloved country, i can tell you things are really falling apart.
We announced yesterday that Nigeria is heading for a total shut-down of all the Institutions in Nigeria and right it has been officially confirmed that the Non Academic Staffs of Nigeria Universities, (NASU) has commenced an indefinite strike action which is going to bring about the total shut down of the Universities in Nigeria.
For those who don’t know about NASU, they are the only workers currently keeping the Universities active while ASUU and FG are out on a movie set.

Enough ranting, read the official report below as published on Punch Nigeria.
Non Academic Staff of Nigerian Universities (NASU) yesterday commenced an indefinite strike to press home their demand for better welfare and protest the state of affairs in Nigerian universities.

Chairman, NASU, University of Ibadan chapter,Olusola Cole Fatoki, who confirmed the development to newsmen yesterday, said the strike was a national one.

He said NASU had earlier given indication of the strike during the week, adding that it gave the Federal Government up till yesterday before embarking on the industrial action.

UI NASU, led by Fatoki, were seen monitoring the take-off of the strike at the institution.

Fatoki stated that although the institution had paid his colleagues August and September salaries, the issues leading to the strike were beyond the institution and payment of salaries as they revolve round the implementation of agreement that the Federal Government signed with workers in public universities.
