The Students’ Union Government, the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti have issued a 3 days ultimatum to the school Management led by Dr(Mrs) Theresa Taiwo Akande and the three Trade Unions(ASUP, NASU &SSANIP) to reach an agreement and call off the three-month-old strike for the sake of Nigerian students, who have been idle and suffering from the unavoidable consequences of the lingering industrial action.

The Students’ Union Government through the President, Comrade Ajibola Oladapo after a meeting of all arms of the Students’ Union, issued the ultimatum at the Students’ Union Building, Aluta Republic of the Institution.

He said the Students’ Union will not tolerate any further delay from both parties as it has begin to talk with other Students’ Leaders in all States in the Southwest for a mother of all rallies in Ekiti state if both parties refuse to put ego aside and reach a concrete agreement in the interest of the Students.

Comrade Ajibola who said Students had waited enough and it is high time they took their case to the world to judge as the power that be will pretend they don’t know anything until all is exposed.

Ajibola said if both the Management and the Trade Unions failed to resolve the crisis within the 3days given, then the Students’ Union will have no option than to mobilize more than 10,000 students all over the south west for a mother of all protest to paralyze all activities in the Southwest.

Also speaking, the immediate Financial Secretary of the Students’ Union, Comrade Odekunle Odebiyi Omotayo said the Students’ Leaders are already mobilising against the re-election of Jonathan. Omotayo said Students in the institution are tired of strike on daily basis caused by poor education policy of the Federal Government.

He furthered in a clear statement, that the generality of Nigerian students at The Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti will no longer fold their hands and watch their destinies whisked away for no cogent reason.

It will be on record that academic activities had been paralyzed in the Federal Polytechnic, Ado ekiti since January 5, 2015 due to an internal crisis rocking the Institution.
