ASUP Strike: Federal Polytechnic Oko Pulls out of ASUP Strike, Begin 2nd Semester Exam 7 July

WE have just been reliably informed that The Federal Polytechnic Oko has pulled out of ASUP Strike and the students are expected to return to school before July, 5th as the Second semester begins 7th July, 2014.

The Registrar of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Mr. Anthony Nwaokolobia told newsmen that the polytechnic, (Okopoly) has pulled out of the ongoing industrial strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) to enable their students write the second semester examinations and cover the academic calendar of the institution.

This news was made yesterday, 2nd June, 2014 evening after the emergency meeting of the Academic Board of Federal Polytechnic Oko who reiterated their support of the agitation of the union but has to put the fate of students into consideration as they have wasted a lot of time at home already.

The Memo

The Academic Board of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, and the Governing Council of the Institution, have directed the immediate reopening of the School and resumption of Lectures with immediate effect.

The suspended 2012/2013 second semester exams and lectures for fresh students will commence on Monday, July 7, 2014.

On this note, the Students of Federal Poly, Oko are expected to resume on the stated date unfailingly because academic activities would commence immediately.

According to the Registrar, the suspended 2012/2013 second semester examinations for returning Students will commence on Monday, July 7, 2014.

The students are advice to adhered strictly to the resumption date.
