As the old adage says, The idle mind, is the devil’s workshop, for more than 7 months now, Nigeria polytechnic students have been on strike without any effort made by the relevant authorities, (The Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP) especially the Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, to resolve the crisis precipitating the long-drawn strike.
According to the Polytechnic students, in this time of insecurity in our country Nigeria, students should not be allowed to be at home, so that they cannot be easy tolls in the hands of insurgents. I represent the Polytechnic Students in Nigeria and I wish to appeal to the President, GoodLuck Jonathan, to show similar zeal he displayed when members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU) were on strike and settle this strike by their polytechnic counterparts once and for all so that we can go back to school.
God bless Nigeria, God bless the Polytechnic Students.
