THE report reaching us here on nigeriaschool.com.ng has it that the Delta State Government recently evacuated 73 students of Delta State origin studying in the troubled Adamawa State, Nigeria. (Very good move)
While speaking with newsmen, the commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties, Delta State, Pastor Powell Ojogho, said that moves are on to “take in” the students into Delta state owned higher institutions.
Pastor Powell said and I quote:
“We will first identify the courses they are studying over there and also get some documents from them to show that they were actually students and see if we have those courses here in our universities/polytechnics, colleges of education and we will absorb them”
.
He called on delta state students in northern state affected by Boko Haram activities to return home as they have a much safer and better education system.
The president of National Association of Delta Students (NADESTU), Federal Polytechnic, Mubi Chapter, Comrade Jeffery James, who spoke to journalist, recounted their ugly experiences in the hand of the terrorists and how they lost two of their colleagues in the hands of the insurgency.
We sincerely hope other States will do the same and bring our children back home where it is safe to study ‘western education’. nigeriaschool.com.ng
