The Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU), warn all the institutions who went ahead to conduct the 2013/2014 post Utme screening test for admissions into various degree programmes offered for the 2013/14 academic session, despite the ongoing strike action by the Union, it was reported that these Universities including the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), University Of Benin (UNIBEN), University of Nigeria (UNN), University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), and many others might be forced to conduct another post utme screening for her applicants.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has warned that candidates who successfully passed the screening examination at the various 2013 post-UTME test to government owned Universities may not be recognized if offered admission from the post ume screening exercise.
This was made clear in Minna on Wednesday, 31st July, 2013 when the ASUU Chairman, FUTMINNA chapter, Dr. Abdulfatai Jimoh, emphasized that none of her members would be involved in the conduct the post-UTME for over 3,000 candidates slated for Friday and Saturday in the institution.
Dr. Jimoh said and I quote;
“any student admitted through the on-going Post-UTME is on his or her own because we would not recognize or teach such student., “if the management goes ahead to conduct the post–UTME Screening, none of the lecturers who are members of ASUU would not participate in the exercise and the students if admitted would not be recognized by the lecturers.”
The Fate of these students now lies on the decision of the Institution and their ASUU Counterparts.
