Has ASUU Strike been called off 2020? The answer is “Yes”! The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has just “conditionally” called off the nationwide strike action.
[Official] Latest report reaching us here at nigeriaschool.com.ng has it that the ten (10) months old nationwide strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been called off today, 23rd December 2020. The leadership of the academic union has also been asked to resume work on Thursday, 24th Dec. 2020.

The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) on Wednesday “conditionally” suspended its strike, ending a protracted industrial action that started since March 2020. He said the suspension of the strike takes effect from Thursday, December 24th, 2020.

National President of the union, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, made this known to the public today, Thursday, 7th Feb., during a press briefing at the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) complex in Abuja.
The Academic Union took the decision after a meeting with representatives of the Federal Government led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.
ASUU began its nationwide strike in March 2020 and called it off on Wednesday, 23rd December 2020.
