ASUP Strike Update Today 2018 – Latest report reaching us here at nigeriaschool.com.ng has it that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has declared that it would commenced an indefinite strike action starting from Wednesday, 12th December, 2018.
While speaking with newsmen, the National President of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, Usman Dutse, said and I quote “the Federal Government of Nigeria has failed to meet the demands of the polytechnic lecturers which borders on need for increased funding of polytechnics”.
Update: ASUP has called off its Strike today
The polytechnic staffs will join their university counterpart who have been on strike since the 4th of November, 2018 to press home their demands with the government.

The national president said; that the institutions are not well funded. According to him, the states polytechnics are even worse because state governments are only interested in establish schools without properly doing their homework on how to actually funding those schools. So, no infrastructure is in place.
