ASUP Strike 2014: Outcome of Today’s ASUP and COEASU Meeting of 27 May, 2014

We inform the general public and most especially all the students of the Nigerian Polytechnic that the ASUP & NEC will be holding a meeting today to resolve the lingering strike, and here is the full details.

The Members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education and Academic Staff Union (COEASU), held meeting with the lawmakers today, 27th May, 2014 in a bid to resolve the ASUP & COEASU strike.

Outcome of the meeting
After the opening prayer and the arrival of guests, the meeting was declared open.

According to our source, many issues were discussed on the necessary things that had to be done before the strike would be called off. WE are told that the meeting will yield a positive outcome.

The Members of ASUP and COEASU told newsmen that the meeting still continues tomorrow 28 May, but the main point is that the ASUP strike is still ongoing.

The meeting involve the House of Representatives members, Minister of Education, Lawmakers, Head of Service, ASUP and COEASU Members.

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, and Colleges of Education and Academic Staff Union, COEASU, have been on Ten-month and six-month strike respectively.
Note: The ASUP strike has not been called off yet, but we hope that they parties involved will come to mutual understanding and call-off the strike so that our Children can return to classroom. #BringBackOurClassroom 😀
