The latest news reaching us reveals that the Academic Staff Union Of Polytechnics, (ASUP) and College of Education Academic Staff Union, (COEASU) will be holding a crucial meeting today, 9th June, 2014 With President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in a bid to find a lasting solution to the current impasse.
From a reliably source, the ASUP and COEASU will be meeting with President Jonathan for the first time since the strike commenced to suspend the lingering Strike.
We are also informed that ASUP will be Holding a NEC Meeting on Thursday 12th June, 2014 which will bring about the end of the strike.
The 11 months ASUP strike is expected to end on Tuesday, 12th June with official Announcement on Thursday after the NEC meeting of ASUP.
We are hoping that all the demands of both lecturers and that of students. Shall be resolve today. (Salary Arrears and HND Dichotomy)
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, and Colleges of Education and Academic Staff Union, COEASU, have been on nine-month and six-month strike respectively.
