My dear fellow Zikites, congratulations on your admissions into this great citadel of learning. As you await your full admissions that will take place during your matriculation, kindly note the following:
1. YOUR STUDIES IS THE MAJOR AIM OF YOUR ADMISSION:
As you make merry over the end of your participation in JAMB UTME, do not allow your joy to overwhelm your academic life. Your 1st Class, 2nd Class Upper, 2nd Class Lower, 3rd Class, Pass and self withdrawal over poor academic performance depend on the foundation you lay now.
2. AVOID BAD INFLUENCE:
It is commonly said that bad mind corrupts the good one. Do not be in a haste to make friend(s), in fact I advise that you should avoid any ‘close friendship’ till your third year in the university.
Moreover, while selecting any ‘close friend’ in your third year, ensure that he or she is a motivator of discipline, self reliance and excellence, and not otherwise.
3. COMPLETE ALL ENTRY REGISTRATIONS ON TIME:
Kindly note that the 2014/2015 academic calendar of Nnamdi Azikiwe University is already running. Therefore, lecturers may not care whether you have completed your physical clearance while fixing and giving lectures.
Kindly start your physical clearance as soon as it begins so that you can finish it up within 24 hours. Failing to complete the physical clearance early enough may cost you missing important lectures.
This is because you will be battling at the Admin block to be cleared while your fellow new students that have completed theirs will be receiving lectures.
4. ENDEAVOR TO RECEIVE YOUR UNIZIK REGISTRATION NUMBER ON TIME:
Completing your physical clearance and paying all required fees on time will help the generation of your UNIZIK registration number by the portal to be faster. Note that you cannot be regarded as bonafide students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University unless your registration numbers have been assigned to you by the university authorities.
Therefore, writing assignments, quiz, semester paper, examination or presenting seminars without your UNIZIK registration numbers may cause some risky problems that may result to non computation of results of the courses affected. Kindly ensure that you were assigned a registration number by the university authorities as early as possible.
5. AVOID ALL IMMORAL ACTS:
Never engage yourself in any act that may damage the image of you, your family and Nnamdi Azikiwe University. Always note the this university does not tolerate any kind of immorality. Therefore engaging your self in such acts may result to your suspension or expulsion from the university.
6. BEWARE OF NON ACADEMIC STUDENTS:
Note that not all persons you see in your hostels, departments and university community are students. Some are here to lavish the hard gotten wealth of their parents and guardians, and not to obtain a degree.
Never allow unserious, unfocused and academically lazy persons to influence your integrity and discipline. Always focus on your studies and be good epistles of your parents, guardians and Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
7. BE PRAYERFUL:
Note that some persons from your village, community, hostels and even departments may not be happy on your successful admission. Always pray to God to overshadow you with his wisdom, guidance and protection.
