A LETTER FROM 0’18 UNN CLASS TO ALL POST UME CANDIDATES, STUDENTS AND WORKERS
We came into University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN full of potentials. Not only that we came to study law but within us lies other talents.
One of the talents 0’18 class was blessed with is Football players amongst themselves.
Though we had no experience of how the faculty league goes, we believed we can cause an upset.
We began training but quite unfortunately we lost every friendly match we played.
Well we said we can beat our opponent since they are not too strong in our faculty compared to other class in our faculty.
We came to the match, dominated the match as expected, missed so many goals, even missed a penalty and at last we were meant to pay as they scored us.
Everybody left that pitch that day depressed, which even led to our Director of Games crying.
Everybody wrote us off because our next opponent is the best in the faculty. Infact in a friendly match with them, we lost four(4) goals to nothing and everybody expected the worse because they are very good.
Even within some of our players they thought is all over and didn’t show up for the match.
We had to come together not with our best but we had something better than the best which is DETERMINATION.
We determined not to lose the match and we really gave our all in the pitch and won the best team by two(2) goals to one(1).
For the UNN 2014-2015 POST-UME Candidates, I don’t know what is discouraging you, maybe your score was not too good. I want to assure you that if you can go in with determination that this is your final post ume, backing it up with God, you must surely pass.
For students in school, you might have messed up with some of your grades, but it’s not time to give up. There’s time to make it up only if you are determined enough.
To workers and other individuals, with determination and God by your side what seems impossible will become possible.
ONLY KEEP BELIEVING
