Schooling in Nigeria, which is overseen by the State, is considered to have improved over the last decade: the first six years of primary years are obligatory and in the native language: English enters the curriculum in the third year. The secondary and higher education have also seen vast developments in standards which have resulted in higher literacy rates (72%).
Although the educational system in Nigeria seems to have started rather slowly, it has steadily improved since the Christian missionaries made their mark in the mid-nineteenth century and during the colonial reign until the end of World War II. From 1990, the educational system was divided into three specific educational methods: the Indigenous, the Quranic and the European educational structures.

All students reach a point where they are unsure what path to take for the future: what are the main factors to contend with? There are many groups to join from debating societies to choirs, art festivals plus appreciating the local sites and artefacts.
