Are you aware that the United Kingdom immigration authorities have officially updated the UK Visas Price for 2026?
This is the new Price Nigerians who are planning to move to the UK, are expected to Pay for UK work, student, Visit Visa, residency applications, and Citizenship.
The United Kingdom government have made a public announcement, informing Nigerians who are interested in moving to the UK, that they have increased the fees for a wide range of visas, residency applications and citizenship processes.

According to the UK government, this change is scheduled to commence from April 8, 2026, with the hike affecting Nigerians and other foreign nationals seeking to visit, study, work or settle in the United Kingdom.
This announcement was made public by the UK Home Office. The revised UK visa fee, shows increases across virtually all categories of visa applications, affecting both Visa applications carried either inside or/and outside the UK.

The affected categories includes:
- UK Visit visas,
- UK Student visas,
- UK Work visas,
- Settlement applications,
- Naturalisation fees.
The increases, which take effect in less than two weeks from this publication, comes at a time Nigerians takes position as one of the top three (3) largest group of people applying for UK Visa, with hundreds of thousands of Nigerians applying annually for visit, student and work visas.
Looking at the Updated Price hike, it shows that all Nigerians who will be applying for a short-term visit visa will start paying £135, compared to the previous price of £127.
While the UK student visa saw a sharp increase in price from £524 to £558.
However, for Nigerians who will be seeking permanent residency, this update shows that instead of the previous £3,029, they will be paying £3,226.
As for Nigerians who are applying to naturalise as British citizens, they are now required to pay £1,709, up from the previous price of £1,605.
Shockingly, the UK Home Office actually decreased the fee for registering a child as a British citizen. The previous price was £1,214, and was decreased to a sharp £1,000, a cut of £214, which is almost 20%.
All other fees either rise or remain unchanged. However, categories, such as the Tier 1 (Investor) visa and the High Potential Individual visa, are unchanged at £2,000 and £880 respectively.
