100 illegal Schools Shut Down In Abia State by Abia State Govt!

The latest information reaching us from Abia State is that the Abia state govt. have shut down Over 100 illegal schools across the state, (the schools include primary, secondary and nursery schools).
This information was relay to the press by Mrs. Monica Philips who is the Commissioner for Education. She said the reason for taking this step is that illegal schools were used to perpetrate examination malpractices in the state, despite previous warnings and advice given to the school authority for upgrade they refused and no other option is left than to shut the schools down.

Mrs Philips said only those who participated and passed the examination administration Integrity and technical certificate workshop held recently in abia state by the ministry, in conjunction with Exam Ethics Marshal International, would be involved in the conduct of school examinations in the state.
Inspection is still on, officials of the ministry are moving round the state to identify other illegal schools. According to the Commissioner, the measures are part of government’s effort to ensure that the standard of education in Abia remains high as normal.
