These set of hudlums also delight in misinforming the public with a fake news regarding the qualification requirements for the UNIZIK Post UTME.

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK)

The Administration of Nnamdi Azikiwe University advice the general public to disregard such information as the school senates are yet to make a press release about the 2014/2015 UNIZIK Post UTME.
Also Unizik has not approved any cutoff points for various Faculties and Departments concerning the Post UTME.

We are also using this medium to inform all the prospective students of UNIZIK that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB and the Federal Government has approved 180 as admission cut-off point of various universities for the 2014/2015 Academic Session.

Please note that 180 minimal point is only applicable in admissions and not Post UTME cut-off point.

Also, it is important to take note that various universities including Nnamdi Azikiwe University may not fix 180 as their acceptable UTME minimum score for their Post-UTME.

If you check the past histories of Jamb Cut-off marks, 180 had always been the minimum cut-off point for admissions but some Universities, especially Federal Universities usually fix 200 as their acceptable UTME minimum score for their Post UTME.

Difference between JAMB cutoff and Post-UTME cutoff
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, admission cutoff are applicable only in admissions and for candidates to know if his or her average score is up to the minimum score approved by Jamb.
While Post-UTME cutoff is directly from the school.

Candidates can calculate their UTME (Jamb) and Post UTME (Aptitude Test) scores using the calculation method approved by his or her institution.

Why Do Federal Universities Place their cut-off points above 180?
Most Jamb candidates are wondering why Federal Universities in Nigeria usually place their admission cutoff above 180 as approved by Jamb.
We want to inform you that cutoff point means acceptable minimal score and therefore Universities are compel to ensure that they don’t admit any candidate whose average score is below such limit.

However, they Universities are free to fix a point above the general minimal point. This is because each institution has it’s admission quota and if number of candidates whose average scores are equal to or above the minimum point approved by Jamb are more than their admission quota, such institution will have no option than to place higher points as required limits for their admissions.

Federal Universities usually have larger number of candidates and that is why their cutoff points are usually higher than the limits approved by JAMB.
