LATEST report reaching us has it that the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC on Monday, 12th January, 2015 said corps members would be mobilized in only two batches in 2015. (www.nigeriaschool.com.ng)
The batches to be mobilised are the 2015 Batch ‘A’ and 2015 Batch ‘B’.
The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has however shifted the date of mobilization for 2015 Batch A from Tuesday, 5th May, to Tuesday, May 26th, 2015.
Aderibigbe while speaking with newsmen said, “Part of the reasons is because of the forthcoming general elections. You know our corps members are participating in the elections. February 21 is when elections will be rounding off and Batch A, that is supposed to pass out, will still be in service to continue with the elections.”
The NYSC spokeswoman denied that the action was due to fears that there could be a repeat of the 2011 post-election violence. For those who are not aware, the Nigeria post-election violence killed about 800 people.
The spokeswoman, “No, which post-election violence? It is not because of that; we have three batches already in service and they are all participating in the elections. It is not because of fear of post-election violence.”
The 2015 Batch ‘A’ Orientation Course has been scheduled to take place from Tuesday, May 5th to Tuesday, May, 26 2015, and not in the month of March as obtained in the previous years.
On this note, all prospective corps members are advised to check the NYSC official website www.nysc.gov.ng for details of the 2015 Batch ‘A’ mobilisation time-table to be on the right track.
The Nigeriaschool.com.ng team wishes all the NYSC members God’s protection during the 2015 Election.
