This is the official address of the Vice Chancellor of Imo State University, (IMSU) Professor Ukachukwu A. Awuzie during the IMSU 2012/2013 Matriculation Ceremony
May I on behalf of the Senate and the Management of Imo State University (IMSU), formally welcome all our Newly admitted students to IMSU today on the occasion of our 2012/2013 Matriculation Ceremony.
This year’s matriculation ceremony is unique and different. It is on record that out of almost 90,000 Aspirants of Imsu who Scored the minimum pass mark for Admission into Imo State University for the 2012/2013 academic session, Only about 10% candidates where offered admission into the Institution because of the approved carrying capacity of the universities in the State.
The Vice Chancellor of IMSU congratulates all of the candidates who were successfully admitted, at this time when the Visitor to our University, Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha, OON, is poised to rescue and transform our University to the original vision of the founding fathers as a “centre of excellence” by;
– graciously paying 100 percent tuition for the Imo students indigenes, and 50 percent tuition for non-Imo students in his free Education programme.
– Promising to reinforce the physical infrastructure within the campus and upgrading the learning resource base of the University.
