The latest information reaching us is that the Minister for Education Prof. Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa’i has said the federal government of Nigeria had approved 65 years retirement age for staff of Polytechnics and Colleges of Education in Nigeria.

The minister, who disclosed this at the 17th convocation ceremony of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede in Owerri on Saturday, 8th June, 2013 said this followed President Goodluck Jonathan approval and signing into law of the policy, saying it would help reduce the attrition rate and encourage research and development.
