The Federal Government gave an ultimatum (although they denied it and then accept it- they love it when they are on the NEWS?) that all the Lecturers should return to Classroom before the 4th of December, 2013 or be sacked. But it seems like the Unionist (ASUU) are not ready to bow to FG threats. Although a lot of Institutions has shun ASUU and commence academic activities. Meanwhile, the president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities warn parents to not send their children/wards to school for insecurity purpose. And the latest news reaching us right now on www.nigeriaschool.com.ng has it that ASUU has vowed to continue with the strike until FG meets all their demands.
Breaking News: ASUU Vows to Go On with Strike until FG meets all Demands!

News: According to our source, the Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have vowed to continue with the ongoing strike until the Federal Government meets all of its demands- which include but not limited to 4 months salaries during the strike etc.

In a press briefing which started in Abuja in the afternoon of December 2nd, 2013, the President of the Union, Nasir Fagge, declared that ASUU “shall never be cowed.

We shall bow only to what we as academics are convinced will serve the interest of Nigeria and its people, no matter their ethnic, religious or class origins. This is where we stand. We shall never be cowed,”.
The strike has caused a lot of damage already and i guess they should not be ‘cowed’ or ‘fowled’ or ‘sheeped’ until the Federal Government make good their 2009 promise.

  • Why is FG so heartless in fulfilling their promise, made since 2009 to ASUU. It does not preach good about th FG. The resources are there, what then is holding FG. Is this not unrighteousness? ASUU please take your stand and not be cowed.
All these things are happening because education has taken back seat in our nation.
