Special Assitant to the minister on Media, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu told Weekly Trust that “the only contentious issue that remains was the release of the white paper and the ministry is working on it in collaboration with other stakeholders.

Mr. Nwakaudu said the minister and his counterpart of Labour have met with the union leaders and resolved most of the issues raised by the ASUP and by the time the whitepaper is released, the lecturers would call off the strike. On why the white paper is not released, Nwakaudu said: “the white paper involves various parties and the parties involved must sit down and decide on these issues”.
