2013/2014 JAMB UPDATE: JAMB CONFIRMS CBT EXAMS FOR 2013 UTME!!!



Latest News On Jamb 2013: Jamb-UTME 2013/2014 is Going to Be CBT!

Latest Update On The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), as the Jamb body has on Thursday, the 1st of November 2012, launched her Computer Based Testing (CBT) for candidates who will be sitting for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).

The Launching of the new initiative took place in Abuja, as the Minister of Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Rufa’i, said it was one of the transformative efforts of the Nigeria government toward revamping the education sector.

According to the Minister Of Education, there are two major objectives of this initiative.

1. This initiative is aimed at advancing the nation technologically.

2. This Initiative is also an important goal, which it’s main aim is to reduce or completely eliminate exam malpractice in Nigeria.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, they also quote the minister of education, Profes Rufa’i as saying at the launching.
That it was a gradual introduction as candidates, had been given the chance to select two options where they could choose between the CBT, Paper-Pencil Test (PPT) and Dual Computer-Paper Test (DCPT).

The minister of education also said that said the new system offered candidates the opportunity to get immediate feedback, get more secured and fair results in line with global best practice.

She also pointed out that the other two options of Jamb 2013, PPT and DCPT, would be open from 2013 to 2015 by the end of which it was expected that all candidates for UTME would be computer literate.
Prof. Rufa’i said that only purely computer based examinations would be taken by JAMB candidates, the minister also expressed the hope that other examination bodies would follow the line of JAMB and start the computer base examination’s, which will surely help build the Nigeria Students To be computer literate.

Announcing the plans, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, said a mass campaign had already been lined up to enable stakeholders to understand the great advantages of using the system.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ojerinde said CBT was conceived out of necessity to address issues that had continued to affect the successful conduct of examinations.

All candidates are advice to get ready for Jamb 2013/2014 examination

  1. Jamb options are rellevant,but they must make computer compulsary for all candidate who are still in secondary level so dat the jamb option may simple for them during thier own time
