    At the meantime lets go a reading.

  4. Below are more questions for physic waec

    Question 1===>retort stand with
    clamp; spring balance; two
    beakers, 500cm cube.
    a) containing water and labelled
    water
    b) containing kerosene and
    labelled liquid L;
    set of masses
    50g,100g,150g,200g,250g;thread
    about 1m.

    Question 2 ===> retort stand with clamp;
    flat bottom plastic petri-dish;syringe about(0-10cmcube).
    Remove the needle. Pull up the plunger. Use flame from a match stick to melt and seal the tip of the syringe to ensure that it is air tight; use appropriate (plastic to plastic) adhesive to fix the bottom of the petri-dish symmetrically to the top of the plunger; set of masses
    500g,1000g,2000gand 2500g.

    Note: Masses may be improvised
    with fine dry sand.

    Question 3 =>potentiometer
    (0-100cm)
    ammeter(0-3A) volmeter(0-5V)
    2ohms standard resistor labelled
    R; two dry cells each 1.5v or 2v
    freshly charged
    accumulator;plug key; eight
    connecting wires,

    APPARATUS
    Potentiometer,
    ammeter,
    voltsmeter,
    jockeykey, resistor,
    dry cell (1.5v),
    connecting wires
    1. Connect the circuit
    as shown above

    2. Close the key, read
    and record the ammeter and voltmenter reading when the jockey key is not in contact with the potentiometer
    Make a contact with jockey key on the potentiometer
    such that the length (L=10.00cm),
    read and record the corresponding ammeter and voltmeter readings.
    Repeat the experiment using the length of the potentiometer as 20cm,
    30cm, 40cm, and 50cm respectively.

    Measure and record
    the corresponding ammeter and
    voltmeter readings.
    Tabulate your readings and plot a graph of I
    against V.
    determine the slope and the intercept of the graph.
    State two precautions taken to ensure accurate results.

    QUESTIONS
    1. State an explain the ohms law of electricity
    2. Difference between e.m.f and P.D

    a. The resistor in the circuit can be replaced with which device?

    b. What is ohm?

    c. Explain the heating effect of the circuit.

  5. 2ND PRACTICAL APPARATUS

    Retort stand, clamp,
    bosshead, spring balance,
    beaker, water, kerosene, thread
    (1m long), masses (50g, 100g, 150g, 200g, and 250g)

    PROCEDURE
    Suspend the spring balance, tie with the thread and the mass 50g on the retort stand.

    Measure the weight of the mass in air.
    Record it as W. fill the beaker with water and record immerse the mass inside the water and record the reading of the spring balance as Ww.

    determine the losing weight of the mass W-Ww
    using another beaker filled with kerosene. Conduct the experiment and determine W and Wc.

    Repeat experiment using the two beakers fluid with water and kerosene and masses 100g, 200g and 150g. in each case determine W-Wc respectively.

    Tabulate your readings
    and plot a graph of Ww on the vertical axis and Wc on the horizontal axis.

    Determine the slope and intercept. State two precautions taken to ensure accurate result.

    b. Advantages of Potentiometer over voltmeter.

    1. The potentiometer pass no current at the time current is being taken

    2. The potentiometer is more accurate than the voltmeter

    3. The potentiometer does not have the type of error associated with a pointed instrument like the voltmeter.

  7. PRECAUTIONS

    - I ensured that the key was opened whenever the circuit was noting use so as to avoid the battery being run down.

    - I avoided parallax error while taking readings from both voltmeter and ammeter.

    - I ensured tight connections to avoid fluctuation of the current.

  8. what is ohm's law? Ohm's law states that the current flowing through a metallic conductor (e.g wire) is directly proportional to the potential difference across its ends provided that the temperature and other physical conditions of the conductor are kept constant.

    UPTHRUST=>
    Using the Spring balance provided, determine the weight of object of mass M=50g.

    Record this weight as
    W1.

    ii.) Determine the weight of the object when completly immersed in water contained in the beaker, record the weight as W2.

    iii.) Determine the weight of the object when it is completely immersed in liquid labelled 'L'. Record the weight as W3. Evaluate V=(W1-W3) and v=(W1-W2).

    iv.) Repeat the procedure with the object of mass M= 10, 15, 20 and 25.

    In each cases, evaluate V=(W1-W3) and v=(W1-W2).

    Plot the graph of 'V' on the vertical axis against 'v' on the horizontal axis.

    v.) Determine the SLOPE S1 of the graph.

    State two (2) precautions to ensure accurate results.

  9. b.) 1. A piece of Brass of mass 200g is hanging on a string balance from right support and completely immersed in Kerosene of Density 8.0×10^2kgm-

    3. Determine the reading on the Spring balance.
    (g=10ms-2 density of Brass=8.0*10^3kgm-3)

    ii.) State Archimede's Principle and the law of floatation.

    what is archimedes principle? archimedes principle states that when a body is totally or partially immersed in a fluid (liquid or gas) ,it experiences an upthrust which is equal to the weight of fluid displaced.

    What is principle of floatation? It states that an object will float in a fluid (liquid or gas) when the upthrust exerted upon it by the fluid in which it floats equals the weight of the object.

    Precautions:- 1. I avoid the masses being touched the bottom of the flask while immersed

    2. I avoid parallax error while taking my readings.

    3. I avoid oscillations while taking readings.
